Language Lab is a language school in the virtual world Second Life. We designed and developed the languagelab.com site, from which all teaching and learning activity is scheduled and administered. We developed the language lab brand identity, both in the real world and in Second life.

The languagelab.com web site allows students and administrators to administer the curriculum, and students to book places for lessons and special events. The web application communicates with venues and devices within Second Life, to facilitate the running of a large and complex language school.

We believe that Language Lab is an example of a type of web application that will become increasingly common over the next few years. We have all become used to web applications that integrate with older, familiar systems like banks and bookstores. The next step will see now familiar web solutions integrating with entirely new systems like Second Life.
